So the last music post I made was almost exactly one month ago, and I’ve been changing up my music selection since then. I don’t know about you guys, but when I decide I like a song or an artist I listen to them nonstop until I know all the words and can play every air instrument. I’m pretty die hard, what can I say. Instead of doing the same thing as last time (where I posted my favorite songs that week), I’m sharing songs that have been on my mind all month long! Woo, we’ve all been dying to know. Just giving the people what they want, no need to thank me (no one is asking for this, I’m just ridiculous aha)(it’s cool, I’m fine).
1. I Will Follow You Into The Dark– Death Cab for Cutie
This was a special song for me this month because it was played at a bonfire, which consisted of a bunch of people I hardly knew. This song started playing and even though I didn’t know these people all that well, we all knew the song and started singing along aha it was a very chill and happy moment(: Death Cab in general reminds me of an old friend, so maybe I love this song because it has so many great memories. Not to mention the song is freaking beautiful and you should all give it a listen!
2. I’m Stuck- Noah Cyrus
I found it really strange that I grew to love this song, considering it feels a little too close to country music for my taste. Honestly, it’s just really catchy- really really catchy. My favorite lyric would have to be ” ‘Cause your love has tamed the devil out of me”, just because I find it to be a unique thing to say aha. Who knows, but I dig it.
3. Not In Love– Crystal Castles Feat. Robert Smith
This song has been on my phone for so long, and I just rediscovered my love for it. The sound is so fun to drive to, I don’t know how to explain it. Definitely a good one to freaking jam out to after a long day. It’s very in your face at times, which I like. My favorite lyric is “And we were lovers, now we can’t be friends, fascination ends”, especially that ‘fascination ends’ part. It reminds me of relationships that have dissolved to nothing, but at one point were exciting and new. I think it’s crazy how people can be obsessed one minute and then feel nothing the next. Their fascination just ends.
4. Changing of the Seasons– Two Door Cinema
I think I fell back in love with this song recently because the person who showed it to me in the first place contacted me not to long ago (which was the first time in some while). The lyrics have turned a little bitter sweet to me personally, but there was a time where I used to jam out to this song. Now it’s a little memory of an old friend- like I said, very bitter sweet. Similarly to ‘Not In Love’, this song is about drifting relationships, and being unsure if they could’ve gone farther or not. The song itself is has a very high-energy upbeat sound to it, so even if it means something a little more touchy to me, it is a very good song to have fun with and dance to or sing to.
5. See Me Now– The Kooks
Okay this song is just sad, but there are enough sad songs on this list so I’m going to skip the whole description part aha- I just couldn’t not put it on the list because, to be fair, I have been listening to it!
6. Fast Fast– Let’s Buy Happiness
This is just a random song I’ve been listening to this month. I also just realized it’s not at all popular because it was hard to find online- that’s too bad. I couldn’t find the lyrics online either, so who knows if what I am hearing is actually true haha oh well. Also I just watched the music video for the first time -because who knew that existed- and wow that was something (sos)(Was that shot on an iPhone?)(chill)(no shade lol). I literally don’t think the song has any meaning. That’s cool with me haha.
So a lot of those were sad, who knew that was what I was into this month? It’s not even like this month was sad! Oh well, aha I try. Let me know if any of you have heard these songs before in the comments! If you know any, I’ll love you instantly aha.
